Mid 2016 I worked night-shift for five weeks. Starting at 6:00 PM, ending at 2:30 AM. I worked while everyone else slept. Rather than have my free-time follow my work day, I started the day with six to eight hours to burn.

I felt like I existed in a bizarro world. My days began to take on a surreal flavor. I had virtually no social life, so I decided to take advantage of this existence and produce a daily sonic-portrait as a sort of documentation, or snapshot of this moment in time.

The result is two 20+ minute tracks cobbled together from the daily "portraits". Originally there were multiple stand-alone pieces, but as I noticed that my days started blurring together in a Groundhog Day-esque fever pitch, I felt that they worked better meshed together.
Portrait A is made up of weeks one and two, while Portrait B is made up of weeks three and four. The fifth week was spent constructing.

This is a departure from my typical percussion-driven work. It rests comfortably in the ambient/experimental realm.
